"Thanks for the fantastic service at a critical time!"

Clayton Alexander of Arthur's Air Conditioning and Heating came out on time on a cold 6 degree Sun morning with a -10 wind chill. My heat pump/electric coil system was not heating properly & my house was down to 63 degrees and getting colder. Clayton was able to diagnose a faulty switch for the electric coil part of the heating. The heat pump itself was working fine but couldn't keep up with the demand by itself. Clayton was able to patch the system so that both the heat pump and electric coil could work while the part was being ordered & received. Thanks for the fantastic service at a critical time!

Jess was wonderful at diagnosing the heating problem in my house. The last owners did not keep up with the filter and there was corrosion where the filter is supposed to be Plus the weather was too cold to do anything. And said to call back when the weather warms up and they will get the job done. Jess was nice, friendly, professional, and cared about his job. May God bless him and his family and Arthur's Air Condition and heating.

Flexible Maintenance Plans for Heating Equipment of All Kinds

Regular maintenance of your heating equipment ensures it operates efficiently, reliably, and safely throughout the colder months. Over time, heating equipment can accumulate dust and wear out, leading to inefficiencies in operation. Such inefficiencies not only tax your system – forcing it to work harder to maintain the desired temperature – but also lead to increased energy consumption and higher energy bills. Proper maintenance includes taking steps to ensure all components are working at their best.

Heating systems are also significant investments. Regular servicing our professionals can identify and address minor issues before they escalate into major problems, potentially saving you significant amounts of money on repairs or replacements. For example, our technicians are trained to identify failing components during routine checks, allowing for their replacement before they cause further damage to other parts of your system.

Remember, safety is a top concern when it comes to heating equipment. Gas leaks, carbon monoxide production, electrical failures, and fire hazards are some of the risks associated with poorly maintained heating systems. Regular maintenance checks include inspections for gas leaks, confirming that venting systems are not blocked, and verifying that all electrical connections are secure. By identifying and addressing these hazards, professional maintenance ensures the safety and well-being of you and your family.

Our Norman heating services include flexible maintenance plans for furnaces, heat pumps, ductless mini-split systems, and other types of equipment. After inspecting your current setup, our friendly technicians can walk you through your maintenance needs and get routine visits scheduled at your convenience.

Expert Heating Installations and Replacements

There’s no getting around it: Even with consistent maintenance and repairs, your heating system will eventually need to be replaced. The age of your heating system is a significant factor, as most heating systems have a lifespan of 15 to 20 years. If your system is nearing or has surpassed this age range, its efficiency likely has diminished significantly, making replacement a more cost-effective and reliable option. You should also consider the frequency and cost of repairs. If your heating system requires frequent repairs or if the cost of a repair is half or more of the value of a new system, it's time to consider upgrading.

Our HVAC experts can help ease the transition from an old, inefficient heating system to a new, high-efficiency one. We begin with a comprehensive assessment of your current heating system to determine its efficiency, potential lifespan, and whether a repair or replacement would be the most cost-effective solution.

We are prepared to install a wide selection of high-quality heating equipment from leading manufacturers, ensuring that you find the perfect fit for your home. Our professionals can guide you through selecting the best new heating system for your needs, considering factors such as the size of your space, your energy efficiency goals, and your budget.

Our installation services are carried out by certified and experienced technicians, guaranteeing a smooth and efficient setup process. We also provide a detailed explanation of how to get the best performance from your new system, including maintenance tips and how to optimize energy usage.

FAQs About Heating Service in Norman

What are the main signs I need a professional furnace repair?

Common indicators include the furnace failing to produce heat or producing very little heat, experiencing loud or unusual noises like banging or rattling, noticing a strong gas odor, or finding that the furnace is short-cycling, turning on and off too frequently.

How often should I schedule professional maintenance for my heating system?

To ensure your heating system operates at peak efficiency and reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns, you should schedule professional maintenance once per year, ideally in the early fall before you rely on the unit heavily for winter heating.

When is it better to replace my old heating system instead of repairing it?

You should consider replacement if your current furnace or heat pump is over 15 years old, if you are facing a major component failure like a heat exchanger or compressor, or if the repair costs approach 50% or more of the price of a new, high-efficiency system.

What is the typical lifespan of a residential heating system?

The lifespan varies by type: conventional furnaces generally last between 15 to 20 years, while heat pumps typically last 10 to 15 years. Regular professional maintenance is the best way to ensure your unit reaches the maximum end of its service life.

  • Ignition and Pilot Light Issues
Problems with ignition systems in modern furnaces or pilot lights in older models are common. These issues can prevent the furnace from firing up, leading to a lack of heat. Our professionals are equipped to safely fix these problems, restoring your system’s ability to heat efficiently.
  • Dirty or Clogged Filters
A dirty or clogged filter can significantly hinder airflow, reducing efficiency and potentially causing damage to your system’s internal components. We can replace or clean filters to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Airflow Problems
Inadequate airflow can lead to uneven heating, system overheating, and stress on your heating system. Our team addresses these issues by inspecting ductwork, fan motors, and blowers to ensure proper airflow is maintained throughout the system.
  • Heat Exchanger Cracks
The heat exchanger is crucial for the safety and efficiency of a furnace. Cracks in the heat exchanger can lead to dangerous carbon monoxide leaks. We prioritize identifying and addressing these serious issues to ensure the safety of your home.
  • Mechanical Wear and Tear
Over time, the mechanical components of a heating system, such as belts and bearings, can wear out, causing inefficiency, overheating, or even system failure. Our maintenance services include inspecting these components and replacing worn parts to prevent more significant issues down the road.
  • Thermostat Malfunctions
Your thermostat acts as the brain of your heating system, regulating temperature and ensuring comfort. When it malfunctions, it can lead to no heat, intermittent heat, or irregular heating cycles. Our technicians are skilled in diagnosing issues with both traditional and smart thermostats, ensuring they function as intended.
