Hydro Jetting in Norman

How Hydro Jetting Works & When We Recommend It

A hydro jetting unit pairs a high-pressure water pump with a flexible hose and a specialized nozzle that rotates as it moves through the pipe. Unlike mechanical snaking, which punches a channel through a clog and leaves buildup on the pipe walls, jetting scours the full interior surface. Grease, scale, and debris flush out of the line.

Norman sits on expansive clay soil that swells with rain and contracts in dry conditions. That constant movement stresses buried sewer lines, separating joints over time and creating openings tree roots seek out. Once roots establish inside a pipe, they collect grease and debris with every flush. It’s one of the most common reasons sewer lines in the Oklahoma City metro area clog repeatedly.

We typically recommend hydro jet service in three situations:

• Recurring blockages: A line that has been snaked more than once for the same problem often has buildup that snaking can’t fully remove.
• Camera inspection findings: When a line inspection reveals heavy grease accumulation, root intrusion, or mineral scale, jetting is a more thorough solution.
• Commercial kitchen lines: Grease traps and drain lines in high-use commercial kitchens build up faster than residential lines and benefit from periodic jetting.

Before jetting, we often run a camera inspection to confirm the pipe’s condition. Severely deteriorated pipes may not be suited to high-pressure water, and we’d rather know that before we start than discover it mid-job.
